50 Years! What is République Du Cameroun Celebrating?*
The foreign dignitaries who will dine and wine with the colonizer of the people of the Southern Cameroons will be giving comfort to their oppressors; they will be regarded as aiding and abetting an international crime, if not, acting as accessories after the fact. In lending support to this outrageous campaign, they should know that the leader of this country is acting in contempt of the decision last year of the African Union that the Southern Cameroons and the Republic of Cameroun should hold talks to agree on new constitutional arrangements to resolve the burning issue of colonization and assimilation in violation of the inalienable right to self-determination.

Regarding the purpose of celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the independence and unification of Cameroun, treated in the previous posting, the main issue is not whether the (de facto) association succeeded) but whether there was a legal Union in 1961 between Southern Cameroons (SC) and Republic of Cameroun (LRC) under the auspices of the United Kingdom as administering authority and the United Nations. From the evidence we have reviewed, the answer is NO.
In 1946, the UN entrusted the administration of French Cameroun and British Cameroons to France and the United Kingdom, respectively, with a mission to run and prepare each of them for independence. Their mission was never to reconstitute or help in reconstituting German Kamerun or parts thereof that vanished before, after or at the end of World War I. The acts of two authorities, permanent members of the Security Council and also of the Trusteeship Council, coupled with the arbitrary acts of the United Nations, resulted in a betrayal of the trust of the international community to ensure that the trust territories evolved unconditionally to separate independence as provided by the UN Charter. Instead of granting independence to British Cameroons as an entirety as was the case of the former German Colonies of Togo, Tanganyika (Tanzania) and South West Africa (Namibia), the UN was instigated to apply a double standard to the Southern Cameroons by forcing it to choose between the devil and the deep sea; that is: independence by joining with Nigeria (from which the SC had separated because of marginalization in 1954) or the LRC (former French Cameroun, embroiled in the French/Ahidjo versus UPC war of independence) .
The gist of the whole of the tragedy of the Southern Cameroons and its people (treated for half a century as inanimate property that can be bought, sold, donated or discarded as trash) appears in the compelling case made to the international community by Mola Njoh Litume, a respected senior citizen of the territory, retired British educated Chartered Accountant and Auditor, leader of the Liberal Democratic Alliance Party and an eye witness of the history. In an interview he gave recently to Equinox Television in Douala, Cameroun, he presented the historical and legal evidence to the international community . The facts of this case, which are now a matter of public record before the court of international public opinion, are published in video on the Internet for the whole world to read. It is an indictment not only of the Republic of Cameroun, but also of Britain, France, the United Nations, the African Union and the whole of the international system of governance. It is a slap in the face of international law, jurisprudence and equity and a thorn in the conscience of free peoples and nations. From information, even though a copy of Mr. Litumbe’s interview was communicated to the Camerounian authorities, they have not contested the veracity of the facts. Instead of rebutting the evidence, which is overwhelming, the accused has embarked on tactics of misinformation, propaganda, lobbying, repression and intimidation Southern Cameroonian leaders, advocates and activists to cover the crime, disregarding the findings and directions of the African Union.
As part of the diplomatic, political and public relations onslaught to rally support for the illegal occupation and assimilation, the Camerounian Life President has invited a number of well-targeted foreign and international personalities such as Boutros Boutrous Ghali and Kofi Annan, (the two former United Nations Secretaries General from the African Continent) to participate in the 20th May Celebration of the forced Unification of former French and British Southern Cameroons. The invitees should be aware that they are being used to cover criminal conduct, as they will be aiding and abetting the commission of a continuing crime, if not, acting as accessories after the fact of colonizing and and assimilating the people of British Southern Cameroons who, according to the African Union, have an inalienable right to self-determination (government) – a right which the Republic of Cameroun has successfully undermined with impunity for half a century. And LRC now erroneously believes that, as an occupier/colonialist, it has a right to title over the territory and its people by prescription, quiet enjoyment by repression and corruption and foreign support.
The issue of whether there was a legal association (Unification) between the parties in 1961 is under deliberation by the African Union. The outcome is expected to lead to a peaceful, just and lasting solution to the dispute – a conflict that potentially threatens peace and security in the sub-region. From reliable sources, and more than four months after the six months that the African Union gave the parties in July last year to have a dialogue to solve the problem, while the representatives of the Southern Cameroons have indicated their decision to submit to mediation, the Republic of Cameroun has not. Its reaction, from all indications, is to treat the African Union decision with spite, persecute and threaten the complainants with harm, and lobby domestic and international support with the huge oil revenues derived from the occupied territory to maintain and consolidate the status quo. The celebration is the kingpin in a vast domestic and international campaign strategy designed to justify the subjugation of the colonized in violation of protections provided by international instruments such as the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, United Nations Charter and Resolutions, African Union Charter and Resolutions as well as the Verdict of the African Commission for Human and People’s Rights. Since Mr Koffi Annan proposed during a visit in Cameroun while he was still in office that the government should dialogue with the people of Southern Cameroons, the colonizer has only intensified his grip on the people. Since he left Cameroun with his national award, his counsel appears to have fallen on deaf ears. As if that was not enough, he is being solicited for more crucial backing.
To repeat for emphasis, apart from evidence adduced in Communication 266 filed at the African Union in the Banjul case by the representatives of the Southern Cameroons on, the unrebutted and compelling case of the Southern Cameroons has been made to the international community by a senior national of the territory, Mola Njoh Litume, in an interview he gave recently on Equinox Television in Douala, Cameroon. The facts of this case, which are now a matter of public record, are published on the internet for the international community to read. It is an indictment of the whole system of global governance and the great powers that run it.
On these facts, the national and international public figures who have been invited to lend support to this criminal colonial scheme, should reject the invitation and refrain from being used. If it is too late to refrain, they should protect their integrity by taking a public stand against the offences. If not, they will go on record as aiding and abetting international criminal conduct. That the only former UN Secretaries General invited are Africans is not a coincidence. More than the case with the other foreign dignitaries, their host is counting on their political clout as former international top executives to support his regime’s hegemonic imperial ambitions by countering the authority of the African Union and United Nations if and when they decide to enforce their Charters and resolutions to restore the inalienable rights to self-determination or independence of the people of the Southern Cameroons.
When the invitees at the Etoudi Palace raise their French Grand Siecle or Dong (sic) Perrignon champagne glasses to Life President Biya on May 20, while the oppressed people of the Southern Cameroons are in sackcloth because of their dispossession and enslavement, the guests will be drinking to health of his Imperial Life President and the completionof the task of annihilation of the Southern Cameroons from the face of the earth. In the Annals of International Law and Jurisprudence, there will be a record of a defunct parliamentary democracy in West Africa called Southern Cameroons, colonized by two European powers and then ceded to the neo-colony of one of them on a silver plate. And the names of the eminent guests to the demise will appear on the epitaph to the dead.

For half a century now the nation of Southern Cameroons has seen red.Systematically,we have endured untold agony as acts after acts of socio-politico-cultural hate have been perpetrated by successive La Republique regimes,(Ahidjo&Biya)with impunity. The nation of Southern Cameroons in the image of her people do understand that they are victims of a terrorist regime that thrives on fearmongering. As a consequence therefore,Southern Cameroonians should take upon themselves individually and collectively the noble task of challenging an unjust status quo, highlighted by a political union gone sour purely out of contempt, foulplays, dark-heartedness and a dilemma that smacks of international conspiracy. The former democratic state of West Cameroon by all means possibly must re-invent itself for as a people we inherit the inalenable right to self-determination.
People of West Cameroon, the time is now for us to re-focus rather than being distracted by trivialities like football and the wanton tradition of beer binging.
GOD BLESS THE SOUTHERN CAMEROONS.
