SILENCE! République du Cameroun is 50 on January 1, 2010.

“No pompous military parade or dances, but a symposium. Symposiums to which I’ll invite the representatives of all the African countries that obtained their independence in 1960, so that we can reflect on this past half century and on the fifty years to come.”
Ivorian president, Laurent Gbagbo, on how he’ll commemorate the 50th anniversary of his country’s independence.

Will Mr. Paul Biya, the ruler of République du Cameroun, ever consider honoring such an invitation?

The 50th anniversary of République du Cameroun is on January 1, 2010 … Radio Silence in Yaoundé!

However, Paul Biya has threatened to come to Bamenda, in the Southern Cameroons, in 2010 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of la République du Cameroun’s Armed Forces. The man intends to flex his muscle in what he believes is conquered territory: “Me voishi à Bamenda!”

We know what is said of a fool at 40. What can be said of a fool at 50? And for the man from Mvomeka born in 1933, what can possibly be said of this Mr. Paul Biya; a jolly idiot at 76.
