It was really a joyful event to have more than 80 members of the Platform of Fighters against AIDS in Cameroon PAFAC-network in Bamenda come together in a first big conference in the Presbyterian Church Center. The Conference which kicked off from July 7-9, 2008 was a historic one given the attendance and caliber of resource persons at the said come-together.

Saturday, March 22, 2008 was a festive day for Chomba elements who came in from all nooks and crannies to raise funds for the construction of their newly acquired Government technical College. The occasion was the Chomba Development and Cultural Association annual come-together. In what was a keynote address the president general of CHODECA Professor Moses Fon Asanji enumerated the achievements of CHODECA since its inception and during his tenure as president. He called on all Chomba sons and daughters to contribute generously.

Mr Fusi John Neba will for the next five years pilot the affairs of the Bayelle Cooperative Credit Union. He was elected Sunday January 27 2008 during the 21 st AGM of that reputed micro-finance enterprise.
Mr Fusi Neba emerged victorious beating five other aspirants amongst whom were the incumbent, Mr Mungu John and the vice, Mr. Forlem. Mr Mungu, however managed to grab the post of the vice president following a miscalculation on the part of the incumbent vice whose ambitions to become President so him losing both the tooth and the gum.

The recently installed Mayors of Bamenda II, III and Bali in Mezam division have already embarked on the task they were given to execute by the people last July 22, 2007. Going by the recent declarations, their municipalities will change for the good of their populations.

Mr. Raymond Gwanyollah, Mayor of Bali council sees several challenges ahead. These challenges, he opines, are not insurmountable, as he will be equal to the task, especially also given that he is surrounded by self less tested citizens. Mr. Gwanyollah’s priority is social cohesion, reason why immediately after his installation, he took off for Bawock, whose Chief had boycotted the installation ceremony. To him, he has the healing balm to cool and do away with the wounds caused by the Bali-Bawock conflict. His second deputy, a son of Bawock, is his ally in that regard, he added.
Assailants Murder Father and Husband in Ndzong-Santa

Friday September 21, 2007 is one of those days that the inhabitants of Ndzong-Santa will never forget. It was a dark evening but an evening that was to cast perpetual darkness in the family of Haddison Sukuro Mokom. The fifty-three year old business man met a tragic end in the hands of unknown assailants.
That fateful evening, the family had gone to bed as early as 8pm. The assailants attacked later that fateful night. They first got the boys in another apartment in the compound, tied them up, and got one of them to call on their father that one of the children was vomiting blood. According to the wife, Grace Mokom, Haddison innocently and fatherly rushed and opened the door of the apartment where the children had been sleeping. It is then that the assailants held him hostage.
